Richard Sanders, Don Schultz, Lyle Lovett,
& Robert Tuggle at the original Cycle Shack in Bellaire, TX - 1969

Wild West Honda opened its doors in 1983, but its roots extend much deeper than that. Richard Sanders, who founded Wild West, began his motorcycle career in junior high school, riding Mustangs. As the years passed, Richard's passion for riding grew. Out of necessity, he became a better than average shade tree mechanic. He began his professional career working on friends' motorcycles in his parent's garage in the early 1960's, ordering parts and supplies from the dealer coupons in the back of motorcycle magazines. Eventually, he outgrew his parents' garage, and in an attempt to alleviate the late night complaints of noise coming from the garage, he relocated to his first true shop in 1969 - the original Cycle Shack in Bellaire, Texas.

As Richard followed his dreams, the customers and employees followed Richard. This eventually lead to several relocations and the opening of several other dealerships, one being Wild West Honda in Katy, Texas.
